Shopgirl Claire leaves her lover because of his parents' objections to her, managing to create a career as a famous opera star. In the end she is finally able to wed her original love. The famous operetta on which this film is based doesn't transfer readily to the screen, giving this
picture a certain awkwardness. Other than Claire's performance the acting is unexceptional. Songs include: "Kiss Me Again," "The Mascot of the Troop," "The Time, the Place and the Girl," "When the Cat's Away," "I Want What I Want When I Want It," and "Love Me, Love My Dog" (Victor Herbert, Henry
Blossom).
