Thrown together by fate, Jim Mason (Adolphe Menjou), a down-and-out onetime racehorse owner, and Goldie (Roger Daniel), a young runaway who has become a stable boy, buy a horse for $2 at an auction. After Jim gives up the bottle, he becomes the horse's trainer and Goldie its jockey, but just when the two become a successful team and inseparable friends, the boy's mother (Dolores Costello) appears and Jim discovers that Goldie is the son he abandoned many years before.
