Gabby Dugan (Dick Purcell), hockey star and jerk, is forced to retire prematurely when he is blinded in one eye after being belted by Jumbo Mullins (Wayne Morris), who believes his teammate is throwing games. Gabby's girl friend (Anne Nagel) and her terminally cute sister (Ann Gillis)
scrape together the money for an operation, and Gabby returns to the ice a better man, leading his team to the championship. Stage actor Purcell, making his film debut, does well in a most unsympathetic role, the hockey action is fair, and, as is often the case with films of the period, the snappy
dialog outshines the plot.
