King Of Hearts: Review

During the Vietnam era, Philippe de Broca's anti-war fable was a perennial favorite on American college campuses. It seems a touch heavy-handed now, but the film still has the power to charm. Alan Bates stars as WWI Scottish soldier who takes refuge in an insane asylum in Marville, France, where the inmates hail him as the "King of Hearts" before taking over the deserted town.
