The first of eight films that co-starred Elliott and Ritter has the two of them working separately to clean up a post-Civil War Kansas town. Elliott is the famed cowboy Hickok, while Ritter is the new sheriff in town. Eventually their paths cross and they unite to fight off some bad guys in
