A routine western, though there are some interesting touches that make this a bit different from most. The film's climactic whip fight between LaRue and Moore is played over the opening credits. LaRue and St. John (formerly of "Mack Sennett" fame) are a pair of marshals out to stop an outlaw. Seeing how he uses Lash's favorite weapon, our hero goes undercover, pretending to be the bad guy. He discovers Moore, a corrupt bank clerk, to be the villain stealing gold bullion. This leads to the climactic fight first seen at the film's beginning. Exciting in parts, and less gunplay, as pistols have been traded for leather. Producer Ormond went on to use film climaxes in credits for several films after this. leave a comment
