"The hottest combination that ever hit the screen!" crowed Louella Parsons, and Robert Mitchum and Jane Russell do ooze a cheap sort of sex appeal. But what Parsons failed to mention is just how crude, rude, sleazy and coarse it all is, so much so that it's become essential viewing. Mitchum plays a gambler who's offered $50,000 to travel to Mexico as part of a bizarre scheme cooked up by mobster Raymond Burr.
