Set in South Africa's Kimberley diamond mines around 1910, famed country singer Reeves (in a rare screen appearance) and Parnell are two Americans who sell snake oil and hustle the diamond miners at cards in order to make a living. After winning Swemmer's unproductive mine in a bet, and meeting his daughter Usher, they enter a partnership with him to help him meet his debts. Wicked bar owner Terre'Blanche raises the water rates, and the trio find themselves desperate for some cash.
