This very bad rip-off of BONNIE AND CLYDE features Clark (of "American Bandstand" fame!) and Walker as two backwoods North Carolinians who unsuccessfully attempt to rob a bootlegger of $250,000. They kill a federal agent while escaping and, with Walker's wife, Varsi, and his five-year-old son York, the crooks head for California. Varsi's brother, a highway patrolman, stops them at a diner. Rather than turn in his sister, he gives them 10 minutes to escape. But Clark has been in the men's room during this discussion and, unaware of the situation, kills the man. They're off again, but Clark is soon killed in a police ambush. Varsi and Walker escape in the car, but she is wounded and dies as they return to their home. Clark served as producer in addition to his acting chores and can't seem to tell the difference between the movies and his TV shows. Here he inserts unnecessary song footage of country star Haggard, which bogs down the already bad film. His performance itself has about as much depth as his television appearances, and it's hilarious to watch him as an explosives expert. Clark went from producing bad movies in the 1960s to producing bad television shows in the 1970s and 1980s. Songs include "Mama Tried" and "Killers Three." leave a comment
