A marijuana farce that evaporates on a cloud of toke smoke as it unspools, this film's slight screenplay can only whip up enough merriment for a three-minute short. Gen-X losers Waylon (Corin Nemec, of TV's Parker Lewis Can't Lose ) and Buzz (David Faustino, of TV's Married...With Children) hope to impress Barbie (Danielle Harris) and Kristi (Caroline Keenan), the girls they could never get dates with in high school, with the promise of an evening of pot-filled excess. But Waylon and Buzz don't have the cash they need to score the dope, so they rob a Xerox store before purchasing some prime weed from Fievel "F.T." Tannenbaum (Maurice Chasse). When Tannenbaum discovers that the idiots have paid him with fake bills from the copy store, he goes ballistic. Meanwhile, Barbie and Kristi get the munchies after smoking, so Buzz and Waylon agree to pick up some snacks. Their favorite convenience store is closed, so they break in and then can't get out, necessitating an SOS call to their paramilitary buddy, Gooch (Robert Stack). While waiting for Gooch to spring them, Waylon and Buzz spot a gigantic marijuana plant in the basement and decide to rip it off. In the course of one evening, they manage to wear out the patience of their dream dates, enrage their dope-dealer and infuriate the convenience-store owner, who was growing the plant for scientific study. With everyone, including the cops, after them, these bumbling potheads must marshal their few remaining brain cells and figure out a way to escape retribution. Though its mind-set is stuck in the groovy sixties, this lame comedy elicits few chuckles from its dumb-and-dumber situations. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
