A lesser adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel from Monogram Studios, which was better known for gangster films and westerns. McDowall comes to claim an inheritance from his uncle, only to be nabbed and sold off into slavery. He is saved by adventurer O'Herlihy, and both take up
with England, making their way across the Scottish countryside to claim McDowall's rightful dues. The film is too slow-paced for what should be exciting material. However, the photography is excellent, giving the film a highly polished look.
