A dated inspirational drama that soft-pedals its more mawkish aspects, this film portrays a pre-teen's true grit in and out of the boxing ring. Jimmy Albright (Jeff Saumier) feels like an outcast in his middle-class Canadian environment. Older brother Ryan (Jason Tremblay), who studies music and plays hockey, is the apple of his father's eye.
