All the praise or blame, depending on your judgment, goes to young Coscarelli who produced, directed, wrote, and shot this film, his second (JIM, THE WORLD'S GREATEST was his debut). There isn't much of a story, just a series of incidents seen from preteen McCann's point of view. A nice
homage to kids but not up to the much more brilliant and poetic level of Francois Truffaut's SMALL CHANGE.
