Despite a good cast (including Curtis in one of his earliest roles), this film suffers from a gutless portrayal of the subject. Murphy is the famed western outlaw who idolizes Donlevy. The two take on Curtis, along with Best and Martin, to school them in outlaw ways. There's no attempt at character sketching.
