Yet another filmed adaptation of a Lawrence novel that fails to capture the intellectual essence or passionate spirit of the book. In 1922 writer Friels and his wife, Davis, arrive in Australia, hoping to find a sanctuary away from the reactionary politics so prevalent in Europe.
