Taking itself far too seriously, KANDYLAND is not so much a movie as an excuse to show off a number of strippers performing their dance routines. Former Playboy centerfold Kim Evenson stars as a pretty young Californian struggling to make it financially. When she meets Bergman, a stripper whose career as a ballerina never materialized, she lands a job stripping at Kandyland, a trendy, neon-lit, yuppie strip joint. Bergman offers to teach the eager Evenson the ropes, insisting that stripping "isn't something you just stand up and you do--it's an art."
