Teaming up again after HERE COMES THE GROOM, Crosby and Wyman play an engaged couple. Crosby, a widower and successful Broadway producer, spends too much time at rehearsals and not enough time with his kids, 18-year-old Arthur and 14-year-old Wood. He takes them to a resort for a few days, but has trouble talking to them. In comes Wyman to save the day by explaining their father's devotion to the stage. Arthur, however, develops a crush on Wyman and writes her a love song, which is good enough for Crosby to publish. Despondent over his unrequited love, Arthur joins the Air Force, and Wood leaves the resort, too, to attend a posh finishing school. Crosby becomes concerned about his son's welfare and joins a USO tour in the hopes of finding and being reunited with his son. All ends well when he locates his son, who has forgotten his adolescent crush on Wyman. Songs include: "Zing a Little Zong," "He's Just Crazy for Me," "The Live Oak Tree," "A Flight of Fancy," "I'll Si-Si Ya in Bahia," "On the 10:10 (From Ten-Ten-Tennessee)" and the Oscar nominated "Just for You" (Harry Warren, Leo Robin). leave a comment
