Oakie is a dumb oaf with ambitions to become a Tin Pan Alley lyricist. He meets the usual pitfalls along the way, but girl friend Dee helps her man out. The screenplay unwisely shifted this Kaufman-Lardner comedy from satire to romance and the result is disappointing. There are some good laughs but the story is largely unrealistic.
