1945, Movie, NR, 64 mins

Talk about identity theft. Director Joseph H. Lewis' first great film is an excellent example of film noir, with a lean plot and atmospheric camera work. Nina Foch stars as a secretary who accepts a job at the mansion of a wealthy English matron (Dame May Whitty). Two days later she awakens in a completely different house wearing someone else's clothes. Worse, she's told she's not who she think she is at all, but rather the mentally ill wife of her employer's son (George Macready). Read the complete review for My Name Is Julia Ross
