Judo Saga: Review

A simplistic movie that is helped by the screenplay of noted director Akira Kurosawa. Yuzo Kayama is a judo student, taking up the sport to gain the respect of his peers. Along the way he learns about the spiritual side of the art from Toshiro Mifune, his judo master. He refuses to accept this lesson until he fights the father of his girl friend, thus learning the true nature of judo. This film is a remake of the 1943 and 1945 two-part Japanese film SUGATA SANSHIRO. leave a comment
