When Fulton, King, Bridges, and Levin--a teenage gang of hoodlums--spy Toomey's sports car, they ask to ride in it. Toomey is hesitant but kind, and the young men, mistaking this for fear, launch a campaign of terror. Eventually they break into Toomey's home and succeed in giving Toomey's
wife (Doran) a heart attack. The four youths are imprisoned, but Toomey remains tolerant as ever and pleads that their charges be reduced. (Maybe he saw BOYS TOWN once too often.) The film is simplistic though there are some fine directorial moments and the cast is excellent. It's based on an
