Tabori, a draft dodger, finds himself on the Rosebud Reservation, where he meets Forster, a cynical Viet Nam veteran and unofficial leader of the reservation. Racimo, Forster's ex-wife, is an idealistic yet practical person who still has much control over Forster. The film rambles as a
three-person character study, going nowhere until Forster is killed in an auto crash, causing a rift between Tabori and Racimo. Nothing is explained well, although there is a nice portrayal of reservation life. That was not enough to justify the film, however, and audiences learned that quickly.
This was a box office bomb.
