Johnny Hamlet: Review

Poor, violent attempt to turn Shakespeare's classic play into a "spaghetti western." The story follows the "Hamlet" plot, although the language has changed considerably. (Just try to find some iambic pentameter in this dialog.) The endings differ somewhat too: the title character here does not die--he rides off into the sunset. Released in Italy in 1968, the film was understandably not shown in the US until 1972. (In English.) leave a comment
