John Loves Mary

Reagan plays a soldier stationed in England who owes his buddy Carson a big favor for saving his life. Carson's girl friend, Field, wants to go to the U.S. to marry her beau, but can't travel as a single girl. Reagan agrees to marry her on condition that they divorce after arrival. Word gets back to Reagan's fiancee, Neal, about the marriage and she tells her father, Arnold, the senator. Reagan discovers that Carson has already married someone else and is an expectant father. Reagan's life is seemingly ruined until it is discovered that Army lieutenant Morris had secretly married Field in England, and then had himself reported killed in order to escape the marriage...
