Joe Palooka In Triple Cross

While on a fishing trip, Joe Palooka (Joe Kirkwood, Jr.), his wife, Anne (Cathy Downs), and his manager (James Gleason) are kidnaped by escaped convicts who use the trio as a cover to dodge the cops. One of the baddies, known only as the Professor (John Emery), decides to do away with his partners in crime and to make Joe throw a fight. The Professor comes to the arena disguised as Anne's aunt, and everything goes according to his plan until Joe allows himself to be knocked out of the ring long enough to put an end to the Professor's plotting--but not too long to beat the referee's count. This picture was the last in Monogram's "Joe Palooka" series.
