This better-than-average "Joe Palooka" film finds our hero (again played by Joe Kirkwood, Jr.) tangled up with gangsters who frame him on a drunk charge and then a murder rap, forcing Joe to undertake his own investigation to prove his innocence. Making the most of realistic dialog, director Cyril Endfield moves the film along at a nice pace while holding together a number of plot lines. Surprisingly, there isn't much boxing footage in this one. leave a comment
