Somewhat fictionalized biography of the famed labor leader, served up with striking imagery. After immigrating to America from Sweden, Hill (Thommy Berggren) tramps around the U.S. until getting involved with the Industrial Workers of the World (the famed Wobblies). He quickly learns his
way around the union and, with his ever-present banjo, begins writing labor songs. After achieving some success and power within the Wobblies he goes to Utah where, to protect a girl he loves, he takes the rap for a murder and gets executed.
