Mahoney arrives in a small California oil town in search of an Indian who once served him as a scout. But when he discovers that his old companion is missing and that his land is now used for oil drilling, Mahoney starts asking questions. Told that the Indian has been hanged for attacking a
local woman, the suspicious Mahoney investigates the disappearance for himself. Working with Patten, the woman who supposedly was attacked, he discovers that evil oilman McGraw framed the dead man in order to get to the oil deposits on his land. Slow-moving, the film is similar to BAD DAY AT BLACK
