This mediocre spy drama stars Caine as Sir Philip Kimberly (note the subtle similarity between his name and real-life British defector Kim Philby's), a one-time British spy who defected to the Soviet Union. When the Russians decide they no longer want him in Moscow, Kimberly undergoes plastic surgery and, looking years younger, receives a new identity and is sent off to London to retrieve a list of Soviet agents operating in Britain.
