Jiggs And Maggie In Society

The cartoon characters Maggie and Jiggs are brought to the screen in the form of Riano and Yule. Their slapstick antics are in evidence as they climb up the social ladder and on the way find themselves mingling with a gang of jewel thieves. Trying to appear more socially acceptable, Riano follows the dance steps of Arthur Murray, and Yule takes etiquette lessons from Dale Carnegie. This was the second of a string of films based on the popular comic strip "Bringing Up Father" starring Yule, Mickey Rooney's father in real life, as the irascible, henpecked nouveau riche Irish emigre.
