Dull, anachronistic, pretentious, "anti-establishment" melodrama. Zooming into town on her motorcycle, Jezebel (Katherine Barrese) immediately captivates the locals. However, flashbacks inform us that Jezebel has been here before. Could she be the granddaughter of the venerable Indian who years before refused to sell his land to bigtime developer Ben Faberson (Malcolm McDowell)? After Faberson's dopey son (Brent Fraser) crashes into her on the highway, Jezebel gets a job in a local bar. We soon discover that all the town's residents have secrets to hide, and all of the men want to sleep with Jezebel. Exploiting their desire, she sets in motion a chain of events carefully planned to make all pay for the suffering they caused her grandfather. Unconvincing in its depiction of a sexually-heated atmosphere and deficient in exploring the psychological underpinnings of revenge, JEZEBEL'S KISS is a thoroughly lackluster film. leave a comment
