This film, with an all-black cast, is a cut above most black -exploitation films of the period, despite the regulation blood and gore. The story opens with the murder of gangster McKnight on Bourbon Street in 1942 and then flashes forward to the year 1976 where New Orleans law student Turman is slowly being possessed by the gangster's spirit. Gossett plays a minister who was involved in the murder plot and becomes the object of the possessed Turman's revenge. Pop superstar Prince, a relative unknown in 1976, did the music and sang "I Will Never Let You Go." leave a comment
