Jack The Ripper

Fairly gruesome re-telling of the "Jack the Ripper" legend has American detective Patterson joining up with Scotland Yard man Byrne in an attempt to track down the man brutally murdering Victorian London prostitutes. Patterson falls in love with McDowall during the course of investigation. It's proved her uncle, a surgeon (Le Mesurier), is the man behind the slaughter. The guilty man meets a gruesome end of his own when he's crushed in an elevator shaft. This closing sequence is the only one in color and is not for the squeamish, as the murderer's end is given a graphic portrayal.
