The Iron Curtain

Based on the actual case of a defecting Soviet spy, Andrews plays Gouzenko, a code clerk who leaves his embassy in Ottawa and asks Canadian authorities for asylum. Andrews informs the Allies of Soviet espionage activities and the Russians demand that he be returned to them. Many attempts are made on Andrews' life but he manages to survive the machinations of the Russian killers. He has undertaken to help the Western countries at the urging of his wife Tierney so that his newly born child will grow up in a free country.
