This Greek tragedy based on Euripides' play of 407 BC tells the story of King Agamemnon (Kazakos), the leader of the Greek army, as he prepares to launch a thousand ships in order to retrieve the kidnaped Helen, wife of his elder brother, Carras. As his fleet lies becalmed, Kazakos and Carras appeal to the gods and are told through their oracles that Kazakos must sacrifice his 12-year-old daughter, Papamoskou. Papas is the tragic heroine who begs Kazakos to reconsider and spare their daughter.
