The Swedes and their American cohorts took a lesson from the Japanese on this rampaging-monster movie, selectively cutting and adding new scenes for the English-language release of their film. Star power was added in the form of Carradine--the Japanese more often used Raymond Burr--as the good investigative scientist originally played by Burton (who was downgraded to the role of Carradine's assistant).
