Sullivan, determined to get a government contract, blackmails Washington official Ging after placing a concealed camera in his hotel room and sending in hooker DeShannon to turn on the heat. When Sullivan gets the film back, he gleefully watches until his own wife appears in the footage,
she being one of Ging's lovers. Sullivan has a fatal heart attack and drops to the floor, never knowing that he has been awarded the contract. His wife arrives at his office and finds the film still running--this time the scene is of Ging and his estranged wife clearing up their marital problems.
A plethora of ironies add up to a very contrived film.
