The third film using the Blake Edwards and Maurice Richlin character and one of the weakest in the series, mainly because Edwards was replaced by director Yorkin and Arkin took over the acting chores from Sellers.

Cargill plays a Scotland Yard knight who uncovers the news that the plunder gleaned from the famous Great Train Robbery is now being employed to underwrite another robbery. He suspects that an associate may be in cahoots with the bad guys, so he calls for Clouseau (Arkin), the famous shamus from Paris.
