Homespun humor about a small Vermont town and $1,000. The film starts with a flashback to 1933 when a New York hotel guest puts his money in the house safe. Taken illegally from the safe to pay off a debt, the money circulates all over town until it is returned to its original spot in the nick of time. Dwain's direction is sharp and keeps the film from dipping too far into hokum.
