Archer plays a young girl ignored by her actress mother Godsell. She finds a packet of cornflower seeds and decides to make something beautiful out of something ugly. In a bombed-out section of London, with the reluctant help of street kids Hey and Hammond, she plants a garden. Of course,
the adults don't understand what her project is about. Overall, the film has a half-hearted feel to it. Though the basic plot is interesting enough, the production relies on a too-easy sentimentality.
