Incident At Phantom Hill

At the close of the Civil War, a group of Confederates steals a million dollars in gold from a Union convoy. The gold is hidden in a cave near Phantom Hill, Texas. After being captured, the group's leader, Duryea, offers to tell where the gold is in exchange for his freedom. Union soldier Fuller then leads the party in the search for the loot. After an attack by Apache warriors, Duryea escapes by plying two of the soldiers with alcohol, then killing them. He runs off, leaving Fuller, Simcox, and Akins to fend for themselves, weaponless. While Duryea gets both the gold and Fuller's dance-hall sweetie (Lane), Fuller survives another Indian attack, although Akins dies...
