1968, Movie, NR, 94 mins

Based on the 1964 play by "angry young man" writer John Osborne, INADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE is about a dishonest middle-aged solicitor whose life begins to unravel. Nicol Williamson repeats his stage performance and though he's undeniably fine, this filmed stage play reduces everything to small chunks of exposition; the flow is gone. No longer are we allowed to feel we are inside Williamson's mind, an effect that a better filmmaker should have been able to achieve. Dudley Moore composed some original songs for the film's score, which also includes "Moonlight Becomes You" and "Room 504," both sung rather well by Williamson. leave a comment
