Aboard a stagecoach bound for California, Hallor meets and flirts with Ferguson. Bandits attack the stage and the party is rescued by handsome Duryea, who instantly steals Ferguson's heart. Hallor invites Ferguson, her gambler father (Steers), and Duryea to a fiesta at his father's home. During the evening tensions mount, coming to a head when Hallor's father, Walthall, loses his ranch to Steers in a card game. It is revealed that years ago Steers had gone off with Walthall's wife and young daughter. Hallor is shocked to realize that the woman he is interested in is actually his sister. A gunfight between Hallor and Duryea is the tragic close. Primitive talkie shows most of the limitations of the crude recording techniques of the time. Includes the theme song "Underneath a Spanish Moon." Also released in a silent version that runs slightly shorter. leave a comment
