As intense as a touring production of "Beatlemania," this made-for-TV movie about Beatle John Lennon's early years benefits from decent facsimile performances by its Fab Four impersonators. Encouraged by his free-spirited mother, Julia (Christine Kavanagh), young John Lennon (Anthony Borrows) moves in with his Aunt Mimi (Blair Brown), who insists on giving him a conventional upbringing. But the headstrong John takes after his mum and bristles at Mimi's ideas of decorum and proper musical training.
