I'D Climb The Highest Mountain

This film is set in the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains, where country preacher Lundigan and his city wife, Hayward, settle down in a small community. A neighbor, Bates, is stricken with fever and, in her delirium, calls for her wild but loving beau, Calhoun. Against the wishes of the girl's father, Calhoun shows up and is nearly the recipient of an angry fist. Lundigan keeps the peace by taking some children on a picnic. When Knox, the town atheist, finds that his children were taken along, he goes after the preacher. Lundigan's faith is temporarily shaken when Knox drowns in a nearby lake.
