Henie does a lot of what she does best--skate--and fills the rest of her screen time up by falling in love with American Marine Payne. To put a smile on her parents' faces, she makes up a story that she is going to marry him. This news also pleases her kid sister who must wait until Henie weds before she can marry a herring tycoon.
