Never underestimate the allure of Leslie Nielsen's bare butt. Scary Movie 4 ended Ice Age: The Meltdown's two-week reign at the box office, grabbing top honors with a $41 million haul. Ice Age placed with a $20 million take. Rounding out the top five were The Benchwarmers ($10 mil), The Wild (debuting with $9.6 mil) and Take the Lead ($6.7 mil).

The many who went to see Ice Age: The Meltdown this weekend were treated to a 20-second teaser for the long-rumored feature take on The Simpsons. The trailer, which opens on a Superman-like "S" logo — only to reveal it's part of Homer's undershirt tag — and touts a July 27, 2007, release, "is running on 7,000 screens, committing us to opening every place in the world on the same date," exec producer James L. Brooks tells Variety. "Which means, we'd better get started." As for the top-secret story line, Mike Scully, who is penning the film with Simpsons creator Matt Groening, says, "We've taken script security to the point of lunacy, though it helped that we wrote it in Aramaic."

American IdolI have to agree with Simon Cowell: Any of "that lot" could have been in the bottom three, as this performance night was one of the worst in the history of the show. Before we got to the big buh-bye, the wannabes headed off to the premiere of Ice Age 2. Seems like the perfect activity for Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais, but he missed it by a week. Then it was time for a photo shoot, where Lisa called them one "big, happy family." Well, not for long. Shakira and Wyclef brought out the intense energy — I swear, Shakira's hips moved more during the first 10 seconds of the song than Bucky, Lisa, Ace, Kellie and Chris' whole bodies have during the entire competition.
