Jory, a professional agitator, takes off for New York with struggling writer Ames. Jory gets into trouble with the law in the city; Ames falls in with an arty Greenwich Village crowd. Boles offers to help out Ames and her artist friends, determined to prove that it isn't poverty that is
holding them back. Jory is unfaithful to Ames and she contemplates suicide. Deciding against the rash action, she is rewarded with a published book. Boles woos her, but the future of any relationship between them is left unclear at the film's end. A dull melodrama.
