Law professor Robinson is named special prosecutor, assigned to put an end to gangster activity in the city. Civic leader Beal, who got Robinson his job, is involved in the rackets and wants to control Robinson's investigation. Everyone Robinson's office persuades to testify turns up dead.
The district attorney fires Robinson, but he continues his investigation as a private citizen. With the help of his former law students he finds enough evidence on Beal and the rackets to put a dead stop to both. Robinson and the police round up all the criminals involved and herd them into a
