The Hudson Brothers, who try to pass themselves off as comedians, star in this mind-numbingly insipid parody of horror movies. A vacationing writer (Bill Hudson) does his best to get away from it all in a rented old lighthouse on the Oregon coast. However, Venetia (Julie Newmar), the ghost of a woman who died on Halloween night in 1882, makes life difficult for him. In short order, the writer is possessed by the spirit of Venetia's husband, Captain Howdy (played by Richard "Jaws" Kiel), while the pretty ghost sets about bringing her long-dead husband's body back to life. And when the zombie sailor begins killing locals, two detectives (Mark and Brett Hudson) show up at the lighthouse to investigate. Lots of stupid gags, bad jokes, and annoying cameos by the likes of Bud Cort, Charlie Callas, Keenan Wynn, Clint Walker, and Gary Owens. Avoid HYSTERICAL at all costs. leave a comment
